The Chetco Valley Historical Society Museum is housed in the historic Blake House, built in 1857, and is listed as the oldest dwelling in the Chetco Valley. The Blake House was once a stagecoach stop and trading post built on a hill overlooking the Chetco Valley and Pacific Ocean.
The Picture Room
The picture room contains a large picture carousel with hundreds of old pictures of the Chetco area, old books, cases of cameras and World War II keepsakes such as Japanese swords and bayonets.
The Sewing Room
Two old sewing machines (one from 1853), old wedding dresses and other clothing, laces, shawls and examples of crochet and tatting are exhibited in the sewing room. One old jacket, over 200 years old, and a rack of patchwork quilts, on dated 1844, are also on display here.
Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen is furnished with an old wood stove from around 1900, a heavy iron kettle, pans and sad irons. An old round table displays a crocheted cover, a custard glass lamp, a Bible and albums.
